Introduction
Astrology can give us important knowledge about ourselves thereby enabling us to achieve successful, fulfilling lives. Career development, relationships, health concerns, finances, social outlets, travel, education, environment, and politics are some of the popular topics in modern astrology.
Astrology has developed over thousands of years to help people survive in times of uncertainty. Though, during the last several centuries it has developed into a means of personal analysis. The natal chart is a map of the planets in the sky at the exact moment one takes their first breath at birth, with the incarnating soul taking in the planet's energies that will be their unique life's map.
Out and About
Per 2011's pagan festival in Oak Park: I managed to catch one workshop on Astrology(of course). About all I learned here was this was an astrologer/psychotherapist who can bill insurance companies for astrology consults (aka therapy) under the guise of his "LCSW" credentials. Pretty soon, these people will get the insurance companies to make "astrotherapy" official medical billing, and one will have to be licensed to practice astrology! They (psych's) did that to hypnosis, so that one has to be a licensed mental health care worker in order to get insurance. Though, you can still practice without license but won't be "officially or professionally" recognized. One never knows if astrology would really ever be recognized by the medical insurance world, but hey, if people want it, they are likely to get it, much like chiropracters, Naprapaths, etc were never recognized until people demanded it.I also got a kick out of the vendors there: one New Orleans witch/Voodoo doctor had an amazing display of props. Very 19th century. Potions, gris gris bags, talismans, candles, etc all in period labeling. Of course, I bought a few items one potion for healing, and one gris gris bag for fortune and found myself $10 lighter!
